Privacy statement

Glass Perth (“we”, “us”, “our”) respects your privacy. This statement explains how we collect, use, store and disclose your personal information, and how we handle it in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). It applies to our website (glassperth.com.au), our online quote form, and the way we deal with enquiries by phone, SMS, email and in person.

The information we collect

What we collect depends on how you contact us. It may include:

• your name;
• your email address;
• your phone number (if you call or text us);
• your suburb or address, so we can work out travel and our service area;
• details of the job you describe — for example glass type, sizes, colour, thickness and the nature of the damage;
• photos you upload of the glass or window to be repaired or supplied;
• any other information you choose to include in your message or tell us during a call.

When you use our website we may also collect technical information automatically, such as your device type, browser, approximate location, the pages you view and how you arrived at the site. This is collected through cookies and analytics tools (see Cookies and analytics below).

How we collect it

We collect personal information directly from you when you complete our online quote form, call or text us, email us, or speak with us in person. Technical and website information is collected automatically through cookies and analytics tools. Our online quote form is provided by a third-party form service (Jotform); the details and photos you submit through it are transmitted to and processed by that service on our behalf.

Why we collect and use it

We use your personal information to:

• prepare and provide a quote;
• contact you about your enquiry and arrange and carry out the work;
• assess the job from the photos and details you provide;
• keep records of jobs, quotes and communications;
• take payment and issue receipts or invoices;
• operate, maintain and improve our website;
• measure the performance of our website and advertising (for example, which pages or ads lead to enquiries);
• meet our legal and record-keeping obligations.

We’ll only use your information for the purpose you gave it to us, a related purpose you would reasonably expect, or where the law allows or requires it.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only where it’s needed to run our business, including with:

• our online form provider (Jotform), which receives and stores the details and photos you submit;
• our website hosting provider (Webclick);
• analytics and advertising providers (Google Analytics and Google Ads; we may also use Meta/Facebook advertising tools in future), which help us understand site usage and ad performance;
• tradespeople or suppliers we engage to help complete your job, where relevant;
• insurers, government bodies or other parties where you have asked us to, or where we are required or permitted by law.

These providers are only given the information they need, and we take reasonable steps to make sure they handle it appropriately.

Overseas disclosure

Some of our service providers (including Jotform and Google) store and process data on servers located outside Australia, such as in the United States. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information continues to be handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.

Cookies and analytics

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to make the site work, remember your preferences, and measure traffic and advertising performance. We use Google Analytics and Google Ads for this. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics using Google’s opt-out browser add-on. Blocking some cookies may affect how parts of the site work.

Keeping your information secure

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, interference and loss, and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security — but we work to protect your information, and our service providers maintain their own security measures.

How long we keep it

We keep your personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above — including to quote and complete work, to keep business and warranty records (we provide a lifetime guarantee on our workmanship, so some job records are kept long-term), and to meet our legal obligations. When we no longer need it, we take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it.

Accessing and correcting your information

You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it’s inaccurate, out of date or incomplete. Just contact us using the details below and we’ll respond within a reasonable time. There’s normally no charge to make a request. If we’re unable to give you access or make a correction, we’ll explain why.

Complaints

If you have a concern about how we’ve handled your personal information, please contact us first using the details below so we can try to put it right. If you’re not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
